Did you seek the all so cool
Did you see the mortal fool
Waited for eternity at the bus stop of life
Old man of destiny, dust became your wife
Watch the woman on the train go by
See the decision in her eyes, she sighs
Running away for the final time
But only as far as destiny’s line
See the tramp as he stumbles down
To the depths of dirt that lays around
Watch his eyes as he hears the sound
You can’t go lower than destiny’s ground
Call the girl who loves so well
Fondle her breasts, the erogenous smell
She will do things you never can tell
But when the woman finds out
Then destiny's hell.

I love the theme of this poem. Having selected these examples each with their flaws that like Greek demi gods take them to their destined end. The Achilles heel set in the stars and echoed in each stanza's last line. A very lovely poem that poignant in that ongoing debate of freewill vs determinism. I loved it
The ultimate destiny, destiny itself.
This one hit like a back-alley sermon, my friend. The voices, the weariness, the quiet resignation...you wrote life as itβs lived, not as itβs wished. πΉπ€ππ―οΈπ¦ββ¬
We are all driven by it, good or bad.
Destiny -The last stop for each in each unique way. Life has been diagnosed as a terminal condition...
The very last stop, hopefully a long way off for us all.
I'm not kidding myself.....ππ
The poem explores the interplay between fate and personal choices, highlighting how individuals navigate their destinies, often influenced by societal expectations and personal desires. It suggests that while we may attempt to escape our fates, we are ultimately bound by them.
Is destiny put upon us, or do we choose it.
I think it's put upon us.
I think you're right.
