Where I wait

Maplespal

Where the darkness rests its hat,
behind the light dimmed by time.
we shared a view of life together,
blinded to the darkness around us.
We neglected the shelf life of memory,
labels, titles, loose pages,
and expiry dates listed to read,
letting our love guide and lead us.
Where I am waiting to be freed,
to be visioned in your eyes again,
to be held in your arms firm hands,
waving shadows are moving forward as us.

A poem of missing someone lost in this life but retained in memory. There is a sense of longing in this poem that leaves a wistful feeling and a sadness. Nicely written
