The girl with no eyes

Brokensoul1425

There once was a girl who had no eyes.

And deep down, all she wanted to do was die.

She couldn’t feel peace or love.

Locked in her own cage, like a pure white dove.

How she was raised was bruised and broken,

her muffled cries and weeps became her slogan.

Not knowing how to challenge the world ahead.

She had thoughts of ending her life, right in her bed.

Too much had been lost already,

so, listen up kids, grab your snack and teddy.

This little girl was all alone in her world.

And those devastating thoughts began to spin and twirl.

I was the girl who had no eyes.

Deep down, all I wanted to do was die.

But its ok now because bullying is back.

Let’s see them revisit their old track.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This is a poem that I wrote in a dark time when I was still in a DV situation at a young age. I never thought I would get here to this point in my life. And I am forever grateful that I had the resources and courage to get out and now can spread awareness of what its like on the inside of one of these situations to hopefully educate people. Please enjoy.

A poem that starts dark and turns challenging and defiant of bullying. It is strong and powerful at the end. Well said
