ROSE-COLORED GLASSES

Lily May Emerald

ROSE-COLORED GLASSES

YOU HAD NO RIGHT
TO INVITE ME HOME
WHEN THERE'S NO ONE AT THE DOOR
WAITING THERE TO WELCOME ME,
TO LISTEN ANYMORE

DON'T LOOK FOR ME,
I WON'T BE THERE
TO HEAR YOU TELL LIES
WHEN YOU SAY YOU CARE.

I'LL SHUT MY EYES,
SO I WON'T SEE
THE ROSE-COLORED REFLECTION
THAT MOCKS REALITY.

A powerful poem written with strong words sending a clear message. Nicely written

I'm thinking someone's got your back up.
I maybe wrong, mind you, but it is a hunch.

    Excellent
    Strong and powerful
    Also enjoyed the rhyming
