How do I ask my girls directly
I know you’re not coping
Are you screaming inside
Like me?
Are you desperately unhappy
But should give thanks
To all that you’ve got?
How can I expect others to
Reach out to me
When I do not?
Why do we think it’s ok to suffer
Agonies inside
To not share to not burden?
It shouldn’t be such
A stigma these days
There’s light hearted banter
A smile to glaze
The vision you sell to others that see
The superficial
Not turmoil you hide to a T.
I’ve always loved
Hearty, full on
Not protected myself
And now I am worn.
From the men I have treated
Better than me
Why was your value
Higher, significantly?
A smile hides a thousand tears.
My cheeks are cracked, aching
My heart, it bleeds.
I love you my girl friends
Your support unanimously
The moments of peace you offer
Wickedly fun, unashamedly.
Cherished those seconds
Blinding bright
As you heal me with warmth
And increase my light.
