Winter thoughts

Maplespal

As the snow softly falls across the land,
a chill in the air quietly rests in the wind,
helping us to understand.
As the world around captures flakes falling,
covering the melted first arriving,
the sweaters and winter jackets are calling.
As the season takes hold and time moves forward,
anticipation of the new year coming,
with Christmas we're all heading towards.
At these moments each year we take pause,
remembering past flakes fall,
caught in cosmic movement nature laws.
Then it kicks in and we remember winters mess,
slippery roads and wet frozen clothes,
with family or others time we give and bless.
As the snow falls softly onto our hands,
melting from our warmth,
we welcome winter back to our lands.
