I begged for your love
For a darkened heart that could not return it.
I begged for love in the hollow of your arms
I begged for warmth in the shadow of your indifference.
~
I begged for your love
For a flicker of fire in your frozen gaze.
I begged for words that never came
I begged for a touch that only haunted me
~
I begged for your love
For a soul that could not meet mine
I begged for passion in the corners of your silence
I begged for a mercy you would not give
~
I begged for your love
And in my begging, I became a ghost
Haunted by the echo of a love that never belonged to me.
With that, I let go

A poem that reflects feelings that many have of desire for the unattainable and the final and best decision to let go. There are some things that are not meant to be. Very nicely written
