Waiting

William Hromada

Sun shining, cool breeze dances light, I'm waiting here for her tonight. Hoping to see her face, her smile, To hold her close, if only awhile. Grasp her hand, soft as a prayer, Grab a drink, then breathe fresh air. Sit outside, let the world unwind, But I'm missing her, left behind. I want to learn you completely-your laugh, your scars, Yet here I rank second, maybe third, beneath the stars.

It is hard to come in second or third when romance is concerned. There is a feeling of discouragement and disappointment in this poem. Sad but well written
