Bottling It

Tom Dylan

Notice of absence from Tom Dylan
Sorry if there is a delay in responses. Sometimes life gets in the way. As John Lennon said, life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans.

I want to bottle this moment,

this scene, this feeling.

I want to keep the here and now

with me forever,

the beach, the crashing blue sea, the skies.

This place, this calm, this peace.

The locals call it tranquillo.

The old told while buildings

reminds me of a Western,

but there will be now show-down today.

I want to bottle this moment,

like Sangria, or the local cerveza.

Then, weeks from now, when like

and work, and the Manchester rain,

threaten to over-come,

I will take down this draught,

pop the cork, and be here now,

back here once again.

Thanks Orchi. This time last week I was on holiday. Back in rainy dark Manchester now. Doh! ๐Ÿ˜€

Does it 'always' rain in M?!

        • Tom Dylan

It stops for a day or too but you never know when those days are. ๐Ÿ˜€

A bit like 'When was Summer?' 'Ohh, two days in June; if ya blinked, ya would have missed it!'
Which day or two in the year might it not rain there?! lol

There are and have been such moments that i wished to bottle and keep for later when the thirst of bad times comes. A lovely write

That image...โ€œlike Sangria, or the local cervezaโ€...is perfect. It grounds the nostalgia in something earthy and familiar...the taste of peace itself. Well done, mate!๐ŸŒน๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ๐Ÿฆโ€โฌ›

Thanks so much, mate. I was trying to capture the holiday vibe that we need to hang on to when we get back home. Cheers, Tom.

Britain in winter, you want to bottle any hot country you've been to.
Actually, Britain at any time now depresses you.
