Tune: Southwell
('Lord Jesus, think on me')
Psalm 61 v.1-4
********
Hear my cry, O God, hear
Attend to me, draw near
From the end of the earth I will
Pray to you, trust you still
When my heart o'erwhelmed be
With many troubles, see
Lead me to the rock that higher
Be than me, faithful, sure
For you have shelter been
To me, your good hand seen
And strong tower from enemy
A refuge safe for me
I will here e'er abide
In your shelter abide
Will trust 'neath cover of your wings
To you praise each still sings

Another wonderful hymn. This one seems one of commitment and dedication. Well done Orchi
Thank you SB.
You are welcome Orchi
Orchi, my friend… this one rests easy on the spirit. “Lead me to the rock that higher be than me”...that line alone could anchor a weary heart. Perhaps not SpongeBob's and Patrick's, they're still bickering over Popeye’s glug-glug stash, Ol' Tom keeps mistaking Gary for Escargot. A real mess I tell you! 😂🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
Thanks T. In older versions, it's '....the rock that is higher than I'. In other areas, it could sound a bit like Obi ('Oi be', or 'I be')! lol.
