Lightning and thunder, demands and threat
Torn asunder from a climate upset
The west wind blows a winter gale
Tongue frozen and pinned, with an icicle nail
Peeled of one's coat, shirt and skin
Bolted the door to let one in
With hurricane breath orders given
Punishment death, the dead forgiven

Thanks for the read Lorenz glad to hear he has arrived he was running late.
My dearest Soren I did enjoy reading this here. Your correlations with lightning and thunder is an exact. Amazing written.
You’ve stated “ With hurricane breath orders given Punishment death, the dead forgiven”
I’d have to say, your play on words here is intriguing. I, well for me, it’s like it reeled me in. For me this line of my favorite or choosing it’s a “audience pull” it’s giving that feel.
🥂👏🏻 Overall beautiful with every word. A daunting write. 💯
I thank you Keyara for the read and interpretation it is most appreciated and valued
Of course 🥂👏🏻
Well-written, Soren Barrett, the poem "Tyrant" explores themes of power, oppression, and the consequential impacts of climate change. It portrays a tyrannical force—possibly a metaphor for nature or authority—exerting control through violent imagery. The subject matter reflects the intersection of human conflict and environmental devastation, suggesting that both can lead to suffering and death. Yet your poem is to provoke thought about the consequences of neglecting both the planet and the structures of power that govern human relations, urging readers to recognize the interconnectedness of these challenges
Thank you very much my friend for the review and interpretation. Indeed it may be taken either or both ways and even interpersonal relationships where one is bound under a tyrannical relationship. Your words are most appreciated.
You're very welcome, my friend.
Some they say, you know he's coming like a hurricane, let's get running.
But once let in, the end is nigh, it's time to die.
Thank you Paul for the read and understanding words they are most valued
Soren, “Tyrant” moves like thunder with a conscience...nature, God, and humanity all collapsing into one figure of control. The storm becomes the empire, the empire becomes the storm, and only after destruction does it whisper absolution: “Punishment death, the dead forgiven.” 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛ Well done!
Thank you so much Tristan I appreciate your read and your most generous comment. I very much appreciate your encouragement. Thanks so much for your support.
The force and power of nature when unleashed is usually because of something man has done to provoke it or a natural occurrence. The force and power of the tyrant is violently displayed with no provacation except the danger of losing that power. Interesting write z enjoyed the read
Thank you so much Tobani I deeply appreciate your review and kind words of support.
You are welcome
A storm made of words indeed!
Thank you Ria for your kind words of encouragement
