Belittle me
Belittle me
I'm just a small girl, you see
I never grow
I never show
That's how it's supposed to be
Never loud
Always quiet
Be a "good girl" dear
Always kind
Always be mine
And never show your fear
Stress and fear will ignite those tears
So drown them out with work
Don't you fret
No time to sweat
And never be a jerk
You've cried so much
No time for such
You fill the room with useless things
Now let it go
It's time to breathe
Move on from these things
Could you ever tell me "no?"
Belittle me
Belittle me
For I'm just a little girl, you see
I never grow
It's time you know
That's how it's supposed to be

- Comment from author about the poem: I wrote this with the thought of feeling small or others making me feel small. Constantly trying to dumb me down or belittle me.
