When in an addiction whatever it may be from something so simple to something that causes death. We all tend to fall away from our true selves and become someone we're not. Some fall away from our loved ones and cause pain or grief... We lose friendships because we as addicts become selfish and self centered. But as our journeys through life we eventually realize what we are and/or have become. Majority of addicts want to seek help but they are afraid to ask. So the life in addiction as the days tend to pass kills us more and more without realizing what it's doing to our bodies. So to all of us in addiction we may not have another minute or second in life because death is just a step away. Don't let this life in addiction keep us a prisoner! Just remember there's help out there, don't be afraid to ask. Tomorrow isn't promised...

A strong message is sent in the write. Clear and well written it tells all that there is help for those that need it.
Thank you for your feedback! As an addict myself it has helped me during my struggles in my journey through recovery. I hope others like yourself like it as well and hopefully to help others in their addiction or addictions.
You are most welcome
Welcome Rebecca
Powerful write and honest tribute to a friend
I'm one of the lucky ones who asked for and accepted the help you speak off
I've also witnessed what you have with friends
I thank you for sharing this
Hits hard
Looking forward to reading more from you
Addiction is a very painful and lonely journey where the addict loses all contact with friends and reality.
If the addict does recover through the steps, it will be through the help of recovering addicts who have been through the journey of despair and come out the other end. Sadly your friend didn't make it, and that is the true despair.
Paul you are correct about all of what you said and I to was lonely with so much pain and if it wasn't for the recovering addicts in my life today I wouldn't be here to tell this to you or anyone else as well speak. So thank you for your feedback
Great to see you on your journey, good going.
