I rest my eyes as slumber nears

As dark of night and stars appear

My heart and mind think of you

And all the things we still must do

Unfilled plans and places missed

And your smile that must be kissed

I try to text, email, and call

To contact you I’ve tried them all

I feel the panic, I feel the pain

No voice I have to call your name

I reach for you, your hand, your face

I need to feel your warm embrace

But then my anguish begins to fade

Another dream of you my mind has played
