Brown sugar skin, a Creole heart,
He caught her eye right from the start.
His Haitian tongue, a rolling sound,
On bayou breezes, love was found.
Her gumbo spice, his pikliz fire,
A burning love, lifting them higher.
She knew his stories, old and deep,
While he held secrets she would keep.
Their dances blend, a new mélange,
A Creole girl, a Haitian sage.
They built a world, of vibrant hue,
A love like theirs, forever true.
