It sure is, and people seem to want to give their money away for a quick profit.

Had a patient that sent money to a scammer in Nigeria posing as a helpless girl but was a man. My patient knew he was a man but sent the money anyways because he said he felt bad for him and liked to fantasize he was a girl. A sad world it is. Nice write
