Midnight October thirty first
Although he saw himself as cursed
The witch he dared to do her worst
Is cackling with delight
She spoke in tongues of ancient lore
The earth shook as a thunderous roar
Hinted at what she had in store
For him to face that night
She lead him to the graveyard"s gate
Demonic guards refused to wait
She served him to them on a plate
All three demand a bite
Forked lightning ripped apart the sky
Inside hell's creatures caught his eye
His terror hits a brand new high
When led into the site
The devil rose up from his throne
Recieved the gift and thanked the crone
Flayed off the skin and crunched the bone
Extinguishing his light

We share cannibalistic Halloween poems today my friend. We must be on the same track. A most enjoyable read very well crafted with just enough element of dark humor to season it well. Loved it
Thanks soren
Read yours
Great writing
Truly appreciate the encouragement
You are most welcome
This is why I stay away from graveyards at this time of year.
Bad enough the dead walking about, but the devil with that big fork eating people, just not on.
Don't the dark nights just add to the mystique at this time of year
Thank you paul
Appreciate the visit
Well done, my friend, your poem revolves around themes of fate, horror, and the consequences of confronting dark forces. The protagonist faces a dire and gruesome fate at the hands of a witch and demonic entities, ultimately leading to his demise.
You know at least as much as i do when I write
Gonna miss that
Thank you friendship
