The river leans close,
its voice soft against the stones.
It speaks like it knows me
like it’s held my heart before.
It reminds me of the stories I’ve misplaced
secrets that lived long before I did
It says: don’t rush,
every twist has its reason
every drop will find the sea in its own time
I sit at its edge,
listening
feeling my own seasons reflected in its flow-
The waiting
The growing
The letting go
It hums a steady song
and I feel the weight inside me lift.
I let go of what clings too tightly
trusting the current to carry me,
reshape me, renew me
And in the river’s silver arms,
I finally breathe
I finally heal

- Comment from author about the poem: This poem is about SURRENDER and TRUST. It's about learning to Flow with life instead of Fighting against it. The river, to me, represents TIME, HEALING and Divine Guidance. It reminds me that every stage: the waiting, the growing, the letting go - have their own Rhythm and Purpose. Writing it was like having a quiet conversation with my own heart, a moment of stillness where I could release what weighed me down and allow peace to return. The river became a mirror for my own journey. Teaching me that even when I don’t have control, I can trust the current to carry me where I’m meant to go. It’s about healing through acceptance, finding calm in uncertainty, and remembering that renewal is always possible.

In letting go we find ourselves, becoming water we fit whatever vessel and in its flow to find its source we shape all around us. A lovely poem
