Thank you for your kind words and friendship; however, I must take a temporary leave of absence for several months to provide care and support to a friend, out of state.❤️
Have you ever met a soul so slight,
Whose chosen path avoids the light
Of heartfelt truth, a probing thought,
Where genuine connection's sought?
Or known a mind, a heart so thin,
Where substance rarely seeps within?
Their world a sheen, a polished gleam,
Reflecting back a fleeting dream.
They speak of surfaces, of show,
Of what others think, and how they go.
The latest trend, the brand-new car,
But never question who they are.
A conversation starts to flow,
Then hits a wall, an undertow
Of emptiness, where nothing deep
Can take its hold or secrets keep.
Like shallow pools, they catch the sun,
But hold no darkness, one by one.
Reflecting skies, a passing face,
But roots find no sustaining place.
The laughter rings, a hollow sound,
On transient, unholy ground.
They skim the surface, never dive,
Content with how the currents drive.
To seek their core, a fruitless quest,
A vacant space, put to the test.
No hidden depths, no soulful spark,
Just fleeting echoes in the dark.
Yes, I have known them, understood
The absence of true brotherhood,
And felt the quiet, cold despair,
Of finding nothing deeply there.

Yes, the me, me, me brigade are still alive and kicking.
You know this, cos they're still polishing their statue they commissioned themselves for themselves
Keeps you laughing, though.
Haste you back.
Thank you for stopping by and reading my poem.
Hurry back genius
Friendship, this hit deep…you’ve given voice to that hollow ache of surface-level living. It’s honest, cutting, and sorrowful all at once. Just read your leave of absence notice. I am taking it that is new and current as I don't remember seeing it before. If so, I will be missing you my friend, and I will be keeping you and your friend in my prayers. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
