Alarm goes off,
calls you out of slumber.
Open the window shades,
feel the morning's warmth.
Breakfast done.
Coffee with newspaper—
massive layoffs, AI replacing humans:
unimportant quibbles.
Can't afford distractions.
Need to keep your head down
and work.
Mortgage payment coming up.
Your life is shiny—
the shine of overdraft.
Nine o'clock.
Teams meeting.
Boss joins, mutes everyone.
Just three words:
“No longer required.”

An introduction to the life of a wage slave.
The rest of the day too demoralizing to relate?
Not a good position perfectly related.
Big thanks for your read and comment. The question is what can we do? Philosophical answers are many, but no reak practical solution.
Appreciate your support ๐
Insecurity has always been in the wind. No game today to fill the pot, crop failure, war brewing, plundered, failing economy, replaced by younger workers. Now it is AI another form or machinery that has replaced the worker since the industrial revolution.
Please accept my thanks for your read and comment. I have a feeling that our lives revolve around uncertainty. Some uncertainties we can't do anything about, but there are some which we can conciously minimise. I don't know what is right, live like there is no tomorrow or to cut back to ensure a tomorrow. Appreciate your support ๐
You are most welcome my friend and I feel the uncertainty and must say am uncomfortable with the technological progress.
My friend, Iโve felt that same manufactured rhythmโฆdoing everything right, only to have the rug pulled anyway. You name the numbness perfectly. A fave. ๐น๐ค๐๐ฏ๏ธ๐ฆโโฌ
