Confession of the Russian Burglar by ladimir Visotsky

Ksey_Gan

We robbed the same house together,

We crept through the same fissure-

We met like three milk brothers,

Who had never seen each other before.

Chorus

For bread and water and for freedom -

Gratitude to our Soviet people mandom.

For nights in prisons, questioning in the  Police

Gratitude to our city prosecutor's office!

They sent us together to the port of Northbotkin

They'll release me and them tomorrow, free!

We met like three paper rubles for vodka,

And parted ways like vodka for men threeple.

Chores

How well-organized the world is - exelent:

I was mentioned in the order yesterday,

Released five years earlier than planned,

And the signature:"Secretary of President"

Chore

This is the mathematics of the gods:

They sentenced me to twelve years,

Took seven years away from my life, odd,

And now they've given five back here.

Chore

Comment

Back then, a bottle of vodka cost 2 rubles and 87 kopecks.

The remaining kopecks usually went towards a simple snack,

like  processed cheese. As a result, this amount of money was

ideally suited for three people. That's where this tradition came from.

Sounds like a song with the chorus. A good narrative it is and a fun read.
