Freedom Awaits (+1)

Kurt Philip Behm

Losers dwell

in misery’s past

Winners reach

for tomorrow recast

Cowardice hides

from every new dawn

Where freedom awaits

— the brave and the strong

Fathers Of God

Deciding for another

— the greatest responsibility of all

You are most welcome Kurt I do not look at it as a kindness but admiration of a fine poem and poet

That closing line…“the brave and the strong”…lands with quiet power. It’s less boastful than resolute, like a light held steady in the dark. Well done! 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Thanks. It's always about the first and last tine. I used to tell students who were struggling
with their poetry to delete everything except the first and last stanzas and then see how they felt
about their poem. It ALMOST always had the desired effect.
