The DAY

drniran

Date me don't cause today I woke up late
Monday indeed it is today, ain't it my mate
Date me don't cause yesterday I saw the closed gate
Sunday of course it was, ain't that decided my fate

Have you got the guts to bring the whole new wave
Tuesday indeed it is tomorrow, waiting for you to pave
Save yourself the day after from getting locked deep in the cave
Wednesday of course it will be, conserving all your rave

Hold it firmly cause someday it is believed to turn into gold
Saturday indeed the day before breaking the chain-cold
Bold it must be everyday so grab it before the stock get sold
Friday of course it turns out for every odds to wrap and fold

A most curious wording of this poem as the days progress it returns to Date me. If dated one measures time marking the hour of conception. Dating on the other hand could be going out with someone but I find this hard to apply. Mind provoking.

Thank you for going through it.. I am glad, the word play with which I initiated this poem is keeping its base strong. Loved your response.
