faith's psalm

Tristan Robert Lange

it is over,
completed—

done.

inspiration—
no conspiration.
o Spirit! was it

you?

you called,
i answered—
surrendered—

and you succeeded.

why then

the

silence?

As a child I asked why a prayer said went unanswered and always was told it was God's will so I wondered why ask. (Why then the silence) a great ending to this piece. Loved it Tristan

Indeed, and while I personally believe God's will can be found in the silence, I do not think such dismissive answers are honest, nor helpful. They only discourage questioning and rightfully raise suspicion. Why should questioning be a problem for anyone who has nothing to hide, let alone God? Oops, I just asked a question. 😏 Thank you again, my dear friend. I really appreciate you sharing your childhood experience and for your support my friend. I always look forward to your engagement. 🙏🕯️💛🕊️

Has Popeye fallen silent again? Doubt it. He's still spinach-guzzling! lol. He'll haunt us in our dreams before long.

Perhaps faith is in the soul of the beholder, and silence the unspoken language of faith. Beautifully rendered dear friend!

        • Tristan Robert Lange

Yes. Deep and perceptive insight there. You understood this one deeply, Bella. “Silence the unspoken language of faith”...that’s the echo after the psalm ends. Faith doesn’t always sing… sometimes it just sits in the silence...listens and hopes. Thank you so much for your time and your insights, my dear friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

God is good, says it on the packet.
Someday you will be rewarded with the key to the gate.
Now I know what you're thinking, and you would be right.

Haha…Paul. Right?!?! Because those are what you need to hear when the shit hits the fan. 🤣🤦‍♂️ I am a person of faith, obviously, but I too have a hard time digesting the Christianese and faith-clichés sometimes. You gave me a much needed laugh, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

The space before the word "silence" is everything! I love it a lot. The dashes too, so well-written.
