Unfinished Us

Lyss Nicole

I still think of you

in the quiet hours,

when the world forgets to breathe.

I tell myself I’ve moved on,

but some part of me

still waits

for a version of us

that never got to be.

There is a longing and wistfulness to this work and a sense of gentle sadness. Nicely worded
