I still think of you
in the quiet hours,
when the world forgets to breathe.
I tell myself I’ve moved on,
but some part of me
still waits
for a version of us
that never got to be.

- Comment from author about the poem: I was thinking about what to write about last night and decided to write about the ache of a love that never fully came to be.
