Trust Why ? - Part II :
" Shattered "
The fleeting lies they told at my face,
Seemed so sweet and kind sometime.
But the truth hidden behind,
Left me drowning forever in fear.
The stars forgot their distant light,
And left me bleeding, unguarded at night.
The light of day was gone then,
Transformed into the dead of night.
I shared my wisdom, my strength,
My flaw and even my truth,
But didn't know I'd stand to see
The ruin of all I had believed.
The bond I forged with fire,
turned to ash in an instant.
The deafening silence thundered,
louder than any battle cry.
I reached for you on my knees,
Yet you left me cold in despair.
The flame of my heart went out then,
A damage made, beyond repair.
I might have lost a battle
but the war is still on.
Now, from a friend to an enemy,
I have transitioned, I have gone.
Like waves that kiss the shore,
Trust is drawn back to sea.
Like a flame flickering low,
Trust sparks, then lets it go.
Now, tell me how shouldn't I shy ?
From something as fragile as trust...
Yet here I am, still questioning,
Still reasoning, 'trust why' ?

- Comment from author about the poem: This piece follows the fallen king after truth of his confidant is revealed. It’s not rage that speaks here, but ruin—his heart, once loyal, now cracked with memory. “Shattered” is his reckoning: a voice rising from the ashes, still asking not for forgiveness or faith—only, quietly questioning, “Trust, why?”

The closest trust broken is always the most bitter, and I would imagine everyone can relate.
Some will say forgive, some revenge, always down to the individual.
I think revenge keeps you alive.
