A SIMPLE HELLO

David Hopkins

as long as your dressed right

i might just say hello.

As Long As You are Dressed Right

I Might Just Say Hello.

AS LONG AS YOUR DRESSED RIGHT

I MIGHT JUST SAY HELLO!

AS LONG AS YOUR DRESSED RIGHT

I MIGHT JUST SAY HELLO.

BUT....

AS LONG AS YOU ARE DRESSEED RIGHT

I MIGHT JUST SAY HELLO!

what i really mean to say is that,

AS LONG AS YOUR DRESSED RIGHT

I MIGHT JUST SAY HELLO.

and if your not well ......,

i dont see any reason why i shouldn't...,

BUT I WONT!

this has been a public service announcement.

please remember to

FUCKIN BE KIND.

  • Comment from author about the poem: i usually say hello to a stranger while walking. I do usually dress to fit the circumstance that i will be in and that i have a very broad variety of clothing to choose from.\r\n\r\nso i found myself a little beaten up as far as my outfit went the other day as i returned from a trip on the Amtrak.\r\nNevertheless i said hello to about every stranger that i passed along my way home (about a 30 min walk) (prolly 5 people) and not one of them responded back with the same..., i thought to myself well i dont stink and my hair is flawless ( a stick on )so it must definately be how im dressed. still no reason not to return the simple hello. all the people in the world are so angry that they are forgetting what a simple hello can do for another person that just really might need that.\r\n\r\n

Now that's a sad story of explanation that goes with this piece. It makes sense in the literal term of understanding the context but makes a sad sense in the state of the world. Overcrowding and rapid advances in technology are two large contributors to the condition and it is very tragic indeed. A very creative write.
