Yes, I've been counting.

A few days ago, it was 719

So I don't know who they are or why

I don't do this to keep tabs

I do this because at this time, it's all I can do

To watch, from the outside.

I am now essentially a stranger.

I see your stories, I try not to

But I do

And i see them multiple times and wonder

would i have been there, in these photos?

But I guess it wasn't meant to be?

So I'm here instead,

watching and waiting and wondering why

it goes up or down.

I never cared for numbers, until now.

I will eventually, stop counting

But I don't know what that will symbolise and

I don't know if I want to stop counting

To fantasize is such a common occurrence becoming Walter Mitty. A lovely poem about an obsession.
