I wrote you a letter
not to beg,
or to sulk,
but to express gratitude,
to apologise,
to take accountability.
I hope you see the letter for what it is.
You are detached,
I wonder if it'll last.
We spoke about a sandwich being made in the future,
a hypothetical, unpromising, non-committal sandwich.
A sandwich I long for, even after seeing the ingredients.
It's up to you to make it.
Do you want to?
You've never been much of a cook,
so I guess I have my answers.
you tried, at least.
But making a sandwich isn't really cooking is it?
But I suppose you knew that.

A metaphor for a relationship here where it takes two slices of bread and a filling in the middle. Without any of these there is no sandwich and someone has to make it. Nicely written.
