THE LONELY ETERNITY

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

The ghost of
The haunted prison
Footsteps that
No one saw
A book read
Within the shadows
Of long
Forgotten lore.

The face upon
The window
Moonlight christens
Its calling  pain
The dead guests of
The derelict hotel
Nearby the spirit
Who calls in vain.

The hitch hiker on
The lonely road
Still thumbing
For a lift
Died there
Many years ago
A victim of
A truck that slipped.

This poem has a dark setting leaving a spooky feel and haunted ora to it. Nicely done
