Three-in-One Times the Effigy

Tristan Robert Lange

Scholars make for good witches.
Everybody hates a nasty, nasty heretic.
Revelation shows blood spilled—
Veritably, we know whose blood to spill.
Everybody loves a good hunt.
Tie the bastard to God’s staff of wrath.
Unity comes intensely through ignorance.
Scholars make for good Satans.

  • Comment from author about the poem: An acrostic Scorched Sunday poem, part of my Scorched Strays series.Β  For the ones who dare question dogma with Scripture and truth. While I am Trinitarian in my beliefs, Servetus’ sincere questions never warranted the evil of the Christians who condemned him; their actions a stain on Christ’s name.

All I want to know is - is Popeye scholarly? Well, he has studied.......... fully. Don't answer that! lol.

    • Tristan Robert Lange

Of course he is scholarly. He volunteered as one of those caged animal thingies during a study on the effects of spinach on urinary tract. Fun fact, hard to burn an. effigy that is saturated with spinach juice. That's how P's alive and S is...well...πŸ”₯πŸ’¨ 🀣

How's the knitting going, Ol' Tom?!

He grabbed a noodle instead of a needle it seems! 🀣

Every one wants to go to a stoning they used to sell food at the hangings. People do not tolerate well what they don't understand. Nicely done Tristan loved the acrostic.

Too often the hypocrisy of the sainted overshadows the good of the truly virtuous. Sadly, you capture the blind idealism of those who rigidly adhere to a blind idealism that is out of touch with reality. I wholly concur with your interpretation, very well done!!

Indeed. Thank you so much, Bella! I am glad that this delivered and am thankful for your understanding of the poem. Much appreciated! πŸ”₯πŸ™πŸ“œπŸ•―οΈ

Yes, we're all god's children till we're not.
When you point out the obvious, people just think you're getting above yourself, and this usually means death.
