Still Lighting My Way

Jane Walker

To Mum and Dad in Heaven

I close my eyes and speak your names,

And still the silence feels the same.

Two hearts that shaped my world with care,

Now watch me from the skies somewhere.

I see your smiles in morning light,

And feel your love in dreams at night.

Though time moves on and seasons turn,

There’s not a day I do not yearn.

For one more hug, a laugh, a word,

The sweetest voices ever heard.

But though you're gone, you're never far

You live within the love you are.

So guide me gently from above,

With quiet strength and endless love.

And when I miss you most, I know

You’re in my heart, and there you grow.

Your kindness lives in all I do,

In every choice, I carry you.

Your lessons guide me through each day,

Still lighting up my path, my way.
