Most nights my mind
Is like a river,
Constantly in ebb and flow.
But when we speak
I fall asleep.
Embraced in peace
I've never known.
Each night you build
A little dam,
Unaware of what you do.
Safety, comfort,
Joy and love,
Until my heart
Knows only you.
Then in my dreams
You visit me.
Your eyes reflecting
All the stars.
You weave the beauty
That I see,
These quiet colours only ours.
So if I could ask for
But one thing,
The truest wish
Inside my soul,
It would be the bravery,
To tell you that
You make me whole.
