Unattainable Kindness

szl

It shouldn’t be easy

…and it never will be.

To rush such a thing,

would be akin to dragging yourself across the river.

Everyone smiles with a lie

Truly.

So it’s better to cry

It’s better to hurt

It’s better to fear

Fear what?

Fear life

Not living it but avoiding it

Cruising through it,

with such control over every micro-expression.

Look up to the sky with questions

Letting go of every tension

Because you deserve it.

Why give only to others what you desperately crave?
