“So you say this log cabin is in Vermont Taliah? “Yes far from every day life, a place I go to just be.” “Why are you so interested Henry?” Henry can not believe he’s meeting the baby girl the couple had with them that day. He only but glanced at her; big blue eyes and chubby face! Henry has Taliah grab an d photo album of his. As they flip through, she can’t believe it! “Tucker and I sold the cabin in Vermont after Gwen died.” “Taliah you were just a baby then. This is quite the surprise.” Tucker walks in and is relieved to see these two hitting it off. “Tucker come here; we need to talk.” “Is she a lousy cook pop?” Tucker says with a smile. “Not at all son; she’s the best cook I’ve had in a long while.” Tucker sees the picture of the old log cabin. Memories come flooding back to him. He sure has missed it all these years. Something special about that place just made life easy living with no rushing; no fears. “Tucker do you remember the baby girl the couple held that day?” Tucker doesn’t remember; he’s got nothing to say. “Tucker, Taliah is the baby from all those years ago and she’s going to the cabin this weekend!” Tucker is all but speechless. “You mean Taliah’s parents are the ones we sold to?” “Can you believe son? It’s like God knew.” Taliah invites them to come along but she’s sure to talk with her boss first. Can you believe how this is coming together? Will you be back to see if they make it to Vermont? This time of the year depends on the weather!!!! 🥶❄️

- Comment from author about the poem: It doesn’t always go as planned in reality and most times this gesture could be seen as crossing a line. Sometimes though caregivers and patients have a unique common ground. There is humanity in each patient; each caregiver; and most times God brings two people to each other for reasons we may never understand and that’s okay. We are not meant to understand it all right now. His plans are far better than anything we could dream for ourselves.
