Winter thoughts

Maplespal

I watched the first flake fall and melt today.
That one second and what my mind had to say.
I hate every cold moment of winter days.
Fall now gone and spring so far away.

Watching the first snowflake drift by my eyes.
I thought mother earth was telling me lies.
I watched and then saw some more fly by.
Winter, this sight almost made me cry.

Slush will be coming very soon to the roads,
the shovels and the heavy snow loads.
Why do I want to still hear the toads.
Coming will be more laundry loads.

We always seem to long for what we don't have and that applies to the seasons as well. A wonderful write of winter coming on. Nicely done

We have our favorite seasons, and I commiserate with your feelings of winter coming on. Although I must admit, I do love to walk in the falling snow, when all is white and peaceful. A good write, stay warm and safe.
