Shooting Stars

PerditaRose

The comet performer watches from afar

As space dust falls through the atmosphere.

Seen as streaks across the sky

Even by the naked eye.

Good show Perseus

Such an interesting write it makes me think of the Aurora borealis. Nicely written

    • PerditaRose

Hmmm.... I had intended to make a reference to the Perseid meteor shower. Perhaps I missed the mark?

On other hand, the aurora borealis is also very impressive, at least in photos. I\'ve never seen it with my own eyes.

Maybe the background I chose was misleading, or my reference was too obscure?

I\'m glad you found the poem interesting and, as the reader, what you make of it is for you alone to say. 🙂

      And, of course, thank you!

You are welcome the fault not in you or your poem but in the reader who not familiar with this shower overlooked the reference in plain sight. My bad

        • PerditaRose

It\\\'s not \\\"bad\\\". I probably should have written something useful in the author\\\'s notes. Truth to tell, I knew nothing about any of this (comets, etc.)before this morning, when I was desperately trying to find an idea for a short story. No story, but at least I got a poem out of it. Remember, I\\\'m very new to writing poetry. So, I see this whole thing as a learning opportunity.

            • PerditaRose

              Thank you. Encouragement is good.
