A Light has Travelled

Kevin Hulme

A light has travelled Millions of miles from

The  surface of our Sun one day past :

About Forty-Years to be precise.

And as it lights upon a different World,

My fond Relatives are alive once more;

For when that bright beam left our Sun; they breathed,

They Loved; and inturn were also much Loved.

They danced and laughed with many a proud Toast,

And lived day-to-day with all life's concerns.

And I too were younger; for the Path lay

Ahead  bathed in Promises of Sweet dreams

As the Rose of youth was in fullest bloom;

Its colours rich with the blush of the Hours.

Those days lie past;  but the light of that day:

The light of that day strikes a distant Moon ,

For somewhere amongst the Dust we're young again.

Our Loved-ones live on for we never cease ;

We are carried on light into the Void.

    A poem of memories cast in light and distance. Reflections of past generations and younger years and their passing well depicted in this poem very nicely done.
