A Renewed Prescence

Shaunmatthewcpoetry

No, I can't go back to being another nonbeliever,

Finding faith was an altogether brutal procedure.

Remove those red curtains from over your eyes,

Stop falling for all those satanically distorted lies.

Counsellor tried to conquer my confused mind,

Put a stop to my awakening and turn me back blind.

Faced a renewed presence when it didn't work,

No stopping my positive charm, I'm Captain Kirk.

Can't say that I really agree there's grey aliens,

More like witches, warlocks, demons and angels.

We were born in this time for a certified reason?

Lord knows of those who've committed treason.

A fun read with a blend of religion, sci-fi and the use of metaphor in treason. Loved this use of blending through more complex thoughts. Well done
