God Knows

Tristan Robert Lange

Tears of torrential torture
Stream
      Down
                          w
                          a
                        r
                      d
                 Into
         Pools
   Of
Permanence.

Per chance,
Did no one see
This tragic pang
Coming?

                 What next?
God knows.

Tristan the idea that tears are permanent. The alliteration here emphasizes and greases this line so that if flows just as the message it gives flows. This poem in a few short words asks the question of whether not anyone saw this coming and then answers with "God knows" This is a double meaning since it can be taken as no one knows or that God is the one that knows. Well done my friend

Soren, this read is brilliant...the permanence of tears, the way the structure flows, the layered meaning of β€œGod knows.” You caught every intention I tucked into this piece. Truly appreciate your presence and support, my dear friend. πŸ’§πŸ–€πŸŒ‘πŸ™

If not blasphemous, but said without any religious connotation, we might say, using a small 'g' here: 'god knows what Popeye's up to', as in 'he could be up to anything'. But we know he's up to one thing 99% of the time. What is it? Don't answer that! lol.
Ohh, Popeye don't know about any finer points of poetry. heehee.

LOL! Big G or little g, it is well known by the divine what big P is up to. Hence the Flood. Unfortunately, which was conveniently left out of even the Russell Crowe Noah film, P was a stowaway on board. Him and Olive Oyl. Little known fact. Yup. It's in the Gospel of Glug, Chapter Ah-gah-gah-gah-glug-gulp! πŸ’§πŸ–€πŸŒ‘πŸ™

Phew! Glad they left it out of the film. lol.

For real! That version was weird enough! Lol!

It's been said that the Creator knows everything, is everything, yet, so much of that "everything" is still a potential, meaning it's not manifested/in our conscious awareness yet. Is this why we're endowed with awareness of being, desire to find out, and an Imagination?
Your poem got me thinking! (Maybe not in the way you intended?)

Mutley, I love that this stirred something in you… that’s the whole point for me… to let a simple drop land where it lands. Honestly… I write these from lived tension…and seeing you run with the philosophical thread tells me the piece did its job. Thank you, my friend. πŸ’§πŸ–€πŸŒ‘πŸ™

and your answer is there- God knows, and maybe the person who caused ,and the one who cried does too....but you have left it hanging beautifully in the air - open to personal introspection and interpretation - short but immensely powerful..
