Wish

Lea Gagliardo

Wish

Many times, my sisters asked,

What do you want for Christmas?

I said, “IDK” and blew them off,

But tonight, I truly know what it is.

I reread an email from you,

And the words pierced my heart.

Remembering the day, you wrote them,

Cleared away every doubt for me.

It would take a splash of magic,

And a Christmas miracle.

Because I wish to truly know,

If you care about me at all.

Could you see a future with me,

Is the way I feel for you,

The way you feel about me?

Could my dreams become a reality,

Instead of an endless fantasy?

I know it is a lot to ask, but, God,

Could you grant this one wish, please?

A simple wish in a poem. Romantic one might say. A Christmas prayer another might say. If you consult the good book it will tell you the way. "Ask and ye shall receive" A good write
