A Rose To Sylvia Plath

mtrotter1

My hornet bee love;

Put me in a jar

And never wake me up,

I stand alone on your roses

Tethering my thoughts inside and out

You make me wild about,

And I stare at you

Left and right

Because you are so beautiful to me...

Take me up there with you

My silent honeybee,

I want to feel your sting.

And roses upon roses upon roses for you

Immersed in a lovely letter,

A letter that is true

Leave me alone with your lonely thoughts

My rosemary apple pie,

My Duncan Hines delight

For you are a starlet upon a kite

So wretched and so rare

So beautiful and so lovely

I just want to stare...

Stare away into the fog of the night

As I read your poetry

As I read your plight,

You make my heart sing backwards

But don't tell anybody

My company is yours...

Dearest darling afterlight

Fill me up with your delight

Put me in a box

And don't let me breathe,

I don't want to be a big ol' tease

Down to my knees I pray for you

The apple tree, the apple scarlet

Rising to fame once again

Beneath the world's green hand

And I shall bury these roses in the sand

I love you madly, my dearest daddy.
