Weren't you dearest after I left my tab?
Consuming my life a whole,
But I didn't catch on fast.
You came as a fiend, disguised as marijuana
Now gloomy and all alone, fused to the phone.
Doom scrolling my present, past, future
Slowly fading over the years,
Caught in between the mix of trying to be social.
You did more than your basic features,
Wasting away pure meaning and pushing away reality.
Music kinda kept me grounded
But without display, I was truly lost.
Couldn't function without structure,
So my only escape was to relate
But I did more than that.
Can't say you're really toxic,
Got the adhesive struck in my loop
Like a fever dream that's all the same,
Never wanting to really quit
But there's true peace when I detach myself.
