Walk

NafisaSB

Walk through a graveyard

And you will soon find

Names of big heroes

Whose work will come to mind

Their ashes now scattered

in the wind

Or buried deep

Under the earth

While people over them weep…

And sing praises of their worth..

Which makes you wonder

If your life is worthwhile too..

As you stumble and walk

And your many actions rue..

In the dark your shadow also leaves your side

In old age, your body cannot its problems, hide

You spent your life giving all that you had

To people around you, and were so glad

But finally the glass shatters

And the mirage and illusions are lost

And you will be stunned

At what they had actually cost

So stay grounded

And live a life that’s worth living.

A life of laughter, of caring, and of giving..

A poem that sends its message of taking care of one's values and actions to make life worth while. Nicely written in good rhyme and flow it sings out to the reader.
