In My Head

Insanely Hilarious

I'm in my head a lot, they say.
Spend too much time elsewhere.
Come back to the real world,
Don't you love us like you did in May?

In my head is a beautiful place, mostly.
Usually skylarks and music and meadows.
Sometimes there's haunted shadows,
But dear lord, there's very little sorrow.

Yes, in my head is a scary place.
But so is the real world.
At the very least, inside my head,
A figment of what it's supposed to be.

I don't know how to be okay with isolation.
To never be known or loved by another.
I know not the sharp sting of silence,
Terrified of being lonely.

I know why I want isolation.
The pretty music of quiet.
The fondness that comes from loving oneself,
The sparkle of being alone.

The pluses and minuses of being alone whether in one's head or in reality explored in this write. Pondered and elucidated it settles for both. Well done
