Petrarch Sonnet 90

Ksey_Gan

The aura of those golden curls

In your knotted hairstyle chain,

A heavenly light, cast by your eyes...

I will never see those beautiful eyes again.

And the living presence of your pale face

Seemed to me both truth and deception;

I was instantly lured by love not to chase

Only to gradually burn from its conception.

But this was a misfortune for a mortal.

A song quietly flows from the cherub,

Echoing with an inhuman sound.

Celestial spirit, the living sun oval,

All that I saw in you then superb

Is but a wound from a simple bow.

    Nicely worded and set in symbol this poem seems classic in form and well directed at love
