Many fall in love without
presence of mind
They repeat the mod cliché
that love is blind.
But sensible matchmaking
chooses more feasible soulmates
Kids need adult supervision
in the matter of dates
Love is a very special emotion
that causes much commotion
in the heart and soul
where it has a big role
Love's possible anytime, anywhere
and many are caught by it unawares
But don't let love be just a stupor
from which you wake up in horror
Don't let love be a one night stand drink
from which you get a hangover.
Love shouldn't be a fad or spell
from which you merely get over.
When young minds play their own cupid
To many that has brought heartache and sorrow
Underage kids dating is really stupid
They usually regret on the morrow.
Reason doesn't work in a fit of passion
So its best to love with
your mind and consultation
Pre-teens in love is harmful fashion.

The essence of this poem seems to be to protect children from unprotected sex and its consequences. It also addresses the issue of emotional pain in immature relationships. Well written
Childeen should be protected from all sex , coitus and potential harmful lovers yes.

Love is a difficult emotion to control. The young often think they are invincible, for lack of experience. It is here that the wisdom of those who have trod the road of love before can be very benificial in honest conversation. A good write my friend!

Could not read your poem owing to it's deep red background. Answer refers to your comments only. How do you operationalise your wise contention in for example, dysfunctional families?

By dysfunctional do you mean single parent or ? Any parent should monitor and supervise kids to prevent them rom falling for underage relationships or harmful dangerous people. I know its super hard these days, of my 5 kids only 1 didn\\\'t heed my advice and fell for guys who broke her heart bad and now she says she will wait for our matchmaking suggestions for marriage.

Any family can be dysfunctional. I never (nor would ) accuse a single parent family of being dysfunctional unless they were.
If parents are so dysfunctional that they can't even protect their children then those kids are pretty unlucky. Parents should always be able to supervise and protect their kids .

Love is instantaneous and does not need approval -- it just happens..one cannot guide a teen whom to fall for - though parents can introduce the right type of like minded youngsters for their kids...a lovely write full of caution and good advice...
Yes dear but parents should try their level best to keep kids safe from harmful relationships and bad people , discourage them from falling in love underage. I did that with my 5 and only one kid didn't listen but now after several breakups she has finally realised she should wait for our approval and matchmaking suggestions.

yes if one sees that the relationship is not healthy, then definitely parents should advise whether it is taken by the child or not

Like any thought provoking poem this one made me think- what if we don't let our younger one don't make mistakes, would they learn to choose?
Yes dear we can guide them to choose wisely and safely and monitor who they're seeing esp in teens, underage relationships should be highly discouraged.
