ROT AND DECAY / PODREDUMBRE

Carlos Alberto BUSTILLOS

ROT AND DECAY

You left,

and I remained,

so utterly alone.

Alone in the city,

where everything is rot,

everything a sickly decay.

The world went dark without you,

without the light you cast on me.

While everyone dies,

one after another, they fade away.

Alone without you,

without your love.

In a city

that reeks of foul decay—

let’s say we’re speaking of Madrid.

PODREDUMBRE

Te fuiste,

me quede,

tan solo.

Solo en la ciudad,

todo es podredumbre,

todo es putrefacción insana.

El mundo se quedo sin tu luz,

esa luz que me iluminaba.

Mientras todos mueren,

uno tras otro, se van.

Tan solo sin ti,

sin tu amor.

En una ciudad,

que huele a pudrición,

digamos que hablamos de Madrid.
