not your appliance

Tristan Robert Lange

Notice of absence from Tristan Robert Lange
Life is full of seasons. This is a season of transition for me, where I will be moving with my family to a new location. As such, with much logistics to consider, I am doing my best to keep up. Please know if I accidentally don't respond, it is not because I am ghosting or becoming distant. Once things settle after the move, I am sure life will return to some normalcy. In the meantime, and always:

Read ๐Ÿ‘“, Write โœ๏ธ, Rise ๐ŸŒ…, Realize ๐Ÿคฏ.

Tristan ๐ŸŒน๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ๐Ÿฆโ€โฌ›
by silence,
you’ve tried your hand
at venomous violence,

but here’s the thing:

i am not your appliance
to hit the off button on,
and i don’t owe you

compliance,

and you sure as hell
will never buy

my silence.

The poem revolves around empowerment and resistance against oppression. The speaker asserts their autonomy and refuses to be silenced or controlled by someone who employs violence, both verbal and emotional. The poem conveys a strong message about self-worth and the rejection of compliance in the face of abusive behavior.

My friend, trulyโ€ฆthank you. You named the strength at the heart of this one and I am thankful it delivered, my friend. Thank you for your astute read and analysis, as always. ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ŒโœŠ๐Ÿ™

A poem that I feel the surge in. Electrical it shocks and in its current reminds that we are not machines that are owned and controlled by a master but our own beings with our own power and will not tolerate having the plug pulled.

      • Tristan Robert Lange

Soren, I appreciate thisโ€ฆthat sense of reclaiming your own current, your own power...which is right where this poem sits. Much appreciated my friend. Glad it delivered! ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ŒโœŠ๐Ÿ™

We can't answer this. What appliance does Ol' P have?! lol.

          • Tristan Robert Lange

Oh my, can't answer that. But here are the sounds ch-ch-chug-glug-glug woohooo! Why did he scream woohoo? Don't answer that!

            • orchidee

Now he's saying woo-hoo too! lol.

Don't think I've ever come across the dynamics of an abusive relationship expressed more succinctly here, Tristan.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

My friend, trulyโ€ฆthank you. You caught the heart of what this is pushing back againstโ€ฆno frills, no softening. Your read is solid, as always, and appreciated. ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ŒโœŠ๐Ÿ™
