Final Retreat

Thomas W Case

When Summer's heat
gives way to
autumn's bliss,
I will kiss this
world goodbye
and walk to
the woods
to save
the last sliver
of my humanity,
where the creek
meets the river of
my destiny.
Far away from
the shitty city of
sick Streets
and broken
dreams.

Some forest bathing should do you a world of good.

You should have a few more rounds left in you?

You never know, you might just get a knock - out.

I think a few will be joining you.
The trip through the city is an arduous journey now which should be done in a tank.
